In the automotive, aircraft and medical equipment sectors, highly clean components are required. The cleanliness tester is to measure and analyze the residual pollutant particles after the cleaning of the filter membrane to achieve the purpose of cleaning standards. Increasingly stringent tolerances make equipment more sensitive to contaminants and residues, and cleanliness becomes more relevant to equipment lifetime.
The purpose of automotive cleanliness testing is to reduce damage caused by particle wear problems and improve the service life and reliability of the product. Cleanliness testing methods include weighing and particulate counting, of which the choice of membrane is critical. At present, there are many materials used as filter membranes for environmental cleanliness testing, such as mixed cellulose lipid membrane (MCE membrane), nylon membrane (N66 membrane), polytetrafluoroethylene membrane (PTFE membrane), and mesh membrane for nylon. So, what factors should we consider when selecting a cleanliness test membrane?
1. First of all, chemical compatibility with commonly used cleaning agents should be considered.
2. Whether there will be curling phenomenon during the drying process after membrane filtration is related to the shrinkage of membrane material and the membrane making process.
3. The diaphragm is easy to be constant weight, and the difference in weight data after filtration before filtration (according to the national standard process to filter the clean cleaning liquid that has been filtered by 0.45um) can be less than 0.5mg.
4. In the case of excessive oil stains of parts, it is not suitable to choose a mixed cellulose lipid film.
5. The grid film may have some reflective phenomena in the microparticle counting method, it is recommended to choose a cleanliness meter with a filter, in order to avoid the reflection of the grid misjudging as the central metal material particles, reduce the sample qualification rate.
