The importance of automotive cleanliness analysis for engines
Source:
Author:
Automotive cleanliness analysis is a long-standing product and service quality management index, which mainly refers to the type, shape, size and quantity of pollutants treated on the surface of parts or products. Such as the treatment of abnormal engine noise. The anomalous noise was found to be caused by fine aluminum particles mixed between the mating surfaces.
In the development process of automobile engines, the cleanliness analysis of engine parts accounts for about 10~20% of the workload of the entire engine power production management process. It is mainly to remove the mechanical impurities remaining on the parts. If we do not do this and do not clean up these residual impurities before assembly, it will cause a series of frictional damage to the surface quality of the part, including:
1. Scrape the engine hole and pull the cylinder, resulting in the engine not working normally;
2. Damage the bearing;
3. Affect the performance and service life of the whole machine.
At present, the service life of China's domestic engines is generally lower than the level of domestic advanced technology, and the cleanliness analysis of parts and even the whole machine is a very important social factor.
Methods and related standards for automotive cleanliness analysis
From the point of view of quality control, cleanliness, as a quantitative technical indicator, can be accurately expressed as "parts, assembly systems, certain parts contaminated with residual impurities." Test results are expressed based on the type, shape, size, and quantity of contaminants.
A complete cleanliness testing process includes the following aspects:
Parts extraction→ contaminant extraction→ film drying→ with instruments and equipment for research and testing technology analysis→ issue relevant test reports.
For many modern industries, cleanliness control is of great importance. Like the automotive industry, these industries often have many quality problems, reducing the service life and reliability of products, the main crux is that the parts are not clean during processing, and a large amount of impurities and dust will be mixed in during the assembly process.
The pollutants on the surface of parts are mainly solid particles such as chips, burrs, casting sand, welding slag, and abrasives. These tiny contaminants will accelerate the wear of parts, block the orifice of the acting element, make the component lose the function of the self-adjusting system, enter the spool gap to jam the spool, strain the surface inside the cylinder to increase the leakage or reduce the output force, damage the oil distribution plate of the pump and burn or grind the pump. The occurrence of these problems can disable or paralyze the system. Therefore, the generation of pollutants must be prevented and reduced from every detail of every link to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the installation system design.
